Ok, This is going to be incredibly brief, mostly because I'm hungry and working and I just want to get back to work.
I created a comic book called Drag, a melancholy bayou gothic fairy tale (that's more words than anyone would have to have spewed at them), and I'm writing and illustrating it. I've posted the pages to my gallery, and may categorize them into one folder, separate from the other doodles.
I had an exceptionally motivating NYCC 2014. Kelly Sue DeConnick looked at my book and didn't cringe (a good thing), and her words of encouragement were like a cool drink, to a parched desert refugee. Ok, that's a bit to D.H. Lawrence, but it makes the point. After years of doing this in somewhat of a vacuum, a glimmer of validation was greatly appreciated.
1. Gave my book to the extraordinarily sweet and personable Jeanine Schaefer and C.B. Cebulski.
My goal 3 years ago was to put my book in his hand. I truly hope he wasn't offended by the intrusion.
2. Got my baseball signed by the legendary Louise Simonson, Dan Panosian, Matt Kindt, and Robert Kirkman.
3. Also gave my book to Charles Soule, Matt Kindt (who complimented my linework, and his wife complimented my characters facial expressions), and Joshua Hale Fialkov, who gave really good, very useful advice. And kind of mini-stalked Robert Kirkman to give him my book as well.
There's so much more, but I'm anxious to get back to work.
More to come.
